The running of the vineyard
Our philosophy in running our vineyard, which has been developed over the last 10 years, involves using growing methods which respect the environment and the originality of the various plots, enabling us to produce a top-quality raw material and to produce outstanding wines. The entire vineyard is cultivated in keeping with the principals of integrated farming
- The fertiliser used is organic in order to nourish the soil so that the vine may draw all it needs from a living and well structured soil. - Maintenance of the soil is preferably carried out by ploughing one row in every two at the end of winter, the spontaneous flora of the other row being regularly cut back. - The treatment of cryptogamic diseases such as Candida and Mildew is carried out in a preventive manner using sprays for which the active ingredients are found naturally in the natural environment or products which are neutral for the environment. - For grey rot, we avoid any excess by limiting the amount of fertiliser added, carrying out grass seeding and lightly thinning out the fruit growing areas. - Successfully managing the yield demands moderation where the use of fertilizer is concerned, in addition to short pruning and “green” harvesting if necessary.
