Neuberg – Frame
Neuberg [ n, m, trad. ] : birth of a place.
The birth of a freshly cleared land, where the vine took over its rights over the old.
In edge edge, facing east, the Jurassic limestone outcrops. The soil is only a skin, a thin thickness of ferrous clay laid on the rock. The heat settles quickly in the morning, but the altitude and the passage of the winds ensure balance. Here, the vine does not compose with abundance: it negotiates the correctness.
The wine that is born of it speaks straight. A vertical sentence, a clean hold, a clear salinity. The aromas do not spread, they point. One might say that in the Neuberg there is an education of fruit: no ease, no emphasis, but a luminous firmness. A dazzling climate, which loves frank vintages and reveals the sure hand.
